A few months ago, I tore ligaments in my ankle when I fell off a ladder. I ended up in an aircast brace and on crutches for several weeks. Due to all of this, I couldn't wear any of my regular shoes or even a sock on my injured foot. I came across these sandals and I found that I could wear them on... my foot with the bandage and brace. I ended up buying them in both black and tan to match my different shoes. The sandal was pretty comfortable, all things considered, and provided some protection to my injured foot, especially if I had to put it on the ground. The X band held the sandal securely on my foot while I was crutching. I also liked that it felt a little bit "dressed up" instead of just being bare. I ended up wearing these daily to work, and whenever I went out someplace while my ankle healed up. I even wore the black one to a a wedding and reception with my black dress shoe on my good foot. It was surprising how many people noticed and made comments on them, particularly ladies. My wife constantly commented that she thought it looked cute on my bandaged foot! Quite a few people complemented me for how I was dealing with the injury and not letting it slow me down. This was good as I ended up being on crutches and unable to wear anything else for over six weeks.
