White flower shorts - size up

I bought the white denim shorts with the embroidered inserts. I normally wear a size 8, (5'7'', 140 lbs) but I had to size up because they run small. Otherwise, the fit is really nice. Wouldn't say they are high waisted, to me that's more like a regular size.
