I bought the matching long sleeve shirt to wear with these shorts. The shorts are a bit shorter than expected. But I'll still wear it. I purchased my normal size in these shorts which is a medium. It fits perfectly. The waist for me is a tad bit snug but not tight. But I think I can loosen it up by ...stretching it out on something on a day or so. I know for sure the large would have been too big. It's really cute with the whole set. It can be casual with sandals or you can wear it either way heels or even sneakers. I plan on wearing the set to a graduation with some short block heels. For reference, I'm 5'2, 140lbs. Curvy bottom, thick thighs. The long sleeve matching shirt, I got that in a small petite and it was perfect. Not tight or loose. And my chest is 34DDD.
I purchased the stripe gauze in XXL as my typical size - possibly fit like L. Even compared with the 5-inch inseam sweatshorts in XL, this XXL was a couple inches smaller. I will try to size up to the plus but hope those will not be over-big. If sizing were perfect they'd be 5-stars. All cotton gau...ze they may shrink up anyway.

I'm so happy with these. Loose, but not baggy looking. Perfect for running around to get errands done, as well as wearing to a summer picnic. Worn with a simple tee, or layered with a tee and loose summer sweater to dress it up a bit. The loose fit is perfect for when the days get really hot keeping you comfortable.
