I wanted to purchase the toddler version of this dress that didn't have shorts but it sold out and old navy hasn't restocked it. Took a chance and bought the kids xs for my average size 2.5 year old and it actually fits her very well (maybe a bit long but thats even better). Unfortunately, the attac...hed shorts make it difficult for her to use the restroom especially when in a rush. I know that's kind of the point of athletic dresses but it's definitely something's to consider if your child is younger and still learning to use the bathroom on their own. My kid also complained about the waist seam irritating her.
