This year is thick waistband, softer material and more lightweight than last year's pants. As a tall person, I loved the drawstring from last year's style because who wants a 2inch elastic waistband. With a drawstring, I can determine where I want the material to gather and can wear the waist high o...r low. The lghtweight material can be good or bad depending on color. I ordered 3 colors in Tall and one is looser and longer than others. If you are a true Tall, these are exactly 32.5", no extra. With thick waist band, you cannot adjust the waist like the drawstring ones to make them longer. You can let the hem out 1 inch which is what I will have to do but you lose the look of a crisp hem on linen. I want to order 2 more colors. I wouldn't hesitate if it was drawstring but that stationary waistband, plus hemming, is making me pause.
I have been buying these pants for a few years. I wanted to replace all of my older size P Medium with the P Small. I am 4 ft 10 115 lb for reference. They took away the drawstring , and although thats not a dealbreaker, it was a nice option. The back pockets are gone so I feel it makes them look ...even more casual than before. The back pockets added a little something for me especially for wok pants.. I ordered a variety of colors and for some reason the Linen color looks bigger than the other colors. Overall these just look very sloppy on me compared to the ones I currently have ( and both the old and the new inside tags say wide leg linen so the style is the same). I have had luck ordering Regular S Ankle length , but there just aren't a good variety of colors.

Love these spring/summer linen pants. I'm 5'2 and these pant are perfect length with out having additional costs of hemming. They are flattering and I can wear them with any top.

I have never in my life left a review on anything but Old Navy has hit it out of the park with these. I am 6 foot 1 and have never found pants that fit me but these pants in tall are the best - they're so comfy but still chic AND they go all the way to my feet. It's like they actually got a tall person to wear them before selling. Brilliant work, Old Navy.
