I bought this skort for my 8 year old and she loves it. The fabric is cottony but not really soft, which doesn't seem to bother her. Shrinkage is ridiculous

I am so, so sick of Old Navy's clothes shrinking so much. It is ridiculous and I cannot understand how they keep getting away with it. My daughter tried on these and two other pairs of shorts. All fit. We washed them in the regular wash (warm water, warm to dry, like who hangs kids clothes to dry??)...
