This dress so pretty and flattering. Fit is true to size, my normal size S was a perfect fit. However!!! If you are above 5'6 or have long legs, go with the Tall length. I am 5'7 and am returning because the liner underneath the dress would inch up and then cause the velvety overlay to ride shorter ...as well, making it very, very short. They definitely mean "mini" on this dress. If you want it to look like the models and you are 5'5 or above, order Tall. 5'5 and under, you should be okay with shorter length.
I'm 5'9 so I bought my usual size small tall. The dress doesn't quite cover my backside, but I guess that's ok since the liner is about 3 inches longer than the dress. I don't know what is happening. Without the liner it looks like a figure skating costume because it's so short and flared out at the... bottom. At least I got a good laugh at myself in the mirror before sending it back. I can't comment on whether this thing is true to size or not, since it was just a mess.
