If you want the shorter length and you are not a tall person definitely get the petite length. I wear a large petite in most of the ON dresses and in this I ended up keeping the small petite to get the mid thigh length (I am 5'2") and some shape on my 145lb athletic frame. I could have done the medi...um petite (it had longer sleeves that I tend to prefer) but my hubby said it looked frumpy and that the small petite was more flattering overall on me so... size down one and maybe even 2 in this one. Great soft fabric and adorable with hosiery and boots.I usually end up wearing my sleeves pushed up to just before my elbows so the sleeve length is fine in the small petite for me (and I have longer arms than I should at my height - other folks who are shorter should not have any issue with sleeve length in this one).
Had such high hopes for this dress and it was so cozy my first few wears. Then I put it through the laundry and it released a STORM of lint. All my stuff was coated. Some pieces in even going to put through the wash again to try and remove it. It was awful. After flat drying the piece itself, there ...is lint flying off it at the softest shake. I don't think it's even wearable anymore since it'll shed at the slightest provocation. I am such a loyal ON shopper (like, wear ON to go to ON), and this was an immense disappointment.
