I don't know if I even realized that these were "barrel" style, but I think that made the regular length perfect for me at 5'4". I am usually a 14petite in ON. Love these pants. You can dress them up or down. Extremely comfortable, look great and a great price!! I wear either a medium or large in Old Navy, depending on how I want the fit. I bought these in Large in both Regular and Tall. I wear the Regular with flats and the Tall with a heeled shoe. I am 5'6 and 155 pounds, if that helps.
