I have at least two dozen of these socks. I work in a hospital on my feet everyday. The are heavier than a basic shoe sock. They are a thin athletic sock, which makes them thin enough for an everyday shoe. I wear them everyday and have all black, so I don't have to match my socks. I've had them for ...over a year now and none have holes and still look good. I'm getting more with the higher ankle for colder weather. I wear a 7 1/2 and am glad they have a s/m size. They fit great, hug the instep and feel good.
I was excited to buy and use these quarter socks when I saw that they were available but was disappointed with their performance. First area of concern is that they slide down. The band around the sole of the foot is tight enough to keep them from slipping completely off, but the ankle and heel don'...t stay put (wearing S/M). They are also a bit more see-through than anticipated. If you're wearing a darker coloured legging (I was wearing the "Lost in the Woods" powersoft legging), you can see where the legging ends beneath the sock. Lastly, the ball of my foot was slightly irritated after the workout; slight friction burn.
