I saw these jeans recently in person and even though they were high rise, I compared them to the mid rise boyfriend jeans I normally buy and the rise measured the exact same amount as the mid rise. I always have to buy a size larger in the boyfriend jeans because the waist is snug- (the difference ...between one size and the next size up is a huge difference and I have to take the waist in by 3") and then I tailor them by narrowing the legs and taking in the waist. So, the slim vintage would mean I wouldn't need to take in the legs and I bought the same size I buy in the boyfriend jeans- I assumed the waist would have to be taken in like the boyfriend jeans. I was optimistic as I pulled them on- I liked the quality of the denim and that they were 99% cotton. They fit perfectly except the waist was way too small! I just don't understand the sizing at ON. I understand that the boyfriend jean is going to be a looser fit- but why is the waist on the same size jean that much smaller? The rise should be based on the measurement of the rise. If they measure the same, why is it mid rise in one style and high rise in a different style? I really wanted these jeans to fit properly- I just don't want to spend so much time tailoring the boyfriend jeans anymore. Bring back the mid rise, straight leg No.7's- in 98 or 99% cotton please!
I like the style of these jeans and bought 3 colors (the black, light gray, and white) both in the 0 and 00 because sizing seems to vary so much. My waist is 24" and hips are 34" and the 00 fit better in each color, so I'm thinking they're fairly true to size. That said, there was a large variation ...in the way the same size fit in the various colors. The white ones had about the same waist size in both sizes. I would be happy with these jeans if they stayed looking the way they do when you first put them on, but they stretch out a huge amount and look very unflattering. After a few hours it literally looks like I have a diaper on, or something, not a good look. I usually wash jeans on cold and hang them to dry to make them last longer, but I felt a need to put these in the dryer to try to help shrink them back. It works temporarily, but each time I wear them the same thing happens over again. I have never had jeans stretch out to this degree and it's very disappointing since there was no way to know they'd do this until I had removed the tags.

Flattering cut for my postpartum body. My midsection is way larger than the rest of my body right now because of my c-section, and I don't love getting baggy jeans because then the legs are way way too loose. The legs on these are perfect - not too 2010's skinny but not so baggy I drown in them. These have a nice subtle stretch to them. I will say I ordered my usual size in these and one other style, and these are a bit tighter in the waist. May want to size up.
