It's hard to tell from the online images what the material is like. I thought these might feel more like a soft fabric since so many customers mentioned they're like a lounge pant. They are smooth and feel like a dress pant. I was pleasantly surprised. These are definitely work appropriate. I wouldn...'t consider them lounge pants at all, except for the fact that they're extremely comfortable. I am 5'8 144lbs and after reading a lot of reviews, settled on a small tall. I was hoping they would be long enough to wear with a heel but they touch the ground with flats on. I suppose if you like the cropped look you could wear heels but these aren't what I would consider "tall." I am thankful to find full length pants at 5'8 though. If you're 5'10 or taller I would say these will be ankle length. Also worth noting that I have a slim waist and athletic legs and butt so it was a little challenging to pull them up over but they sit perfectly at my waist/belly button. I have a slightly longer torso. I do have a small gap in the back but if I sized down I think the butt area would be too tight. Still, I love them and would buy again.
I'm not usually a fan of wide leg pants, but (overall) I love these. They are comfortable(ish) and flattering. However, the sizing is waaaaay off. I ordered an XL. When I tried them on, the waistband was so tight that I had to shimmy and wiggle and coax my way into them. The butt, hips, and legs f...it fine once they were on, but the waistband is SO TIGHT. Usually, I don't mind because it holds everything in like spanx (lol), but I felt like I was doing a workout to get these pants on, which is not what I want to be doing at 6:00am when I'm getting ready for work. So... I returned them and ordered an XXL. When I tried on the XXL, the waistband was too loose and gaped out in the back, and the hips, butt, and legs were baggy. I decided to keep them, wash in warm/hot water, and then dry on high heat in the hopes of shrinking them just enough to make them fit. They shrank a LITTLE... but not enough. The waistband doesn't gape anymore, but it's still too loose everywhere for it to be flattering on me. I'm stuck with the XXL, but I'll probably end up donating them. I ended up reordering the XL because I really wanted the pants, but they're definitely NOT the most comfortable to wear all day. I thought the XL would be fine, but the waistband is SO TIGHT that the pressure from it made my lower back hurt. XL are too small. XXL are too big. To give you an idea... I compared the overall size of the waistbands in a few different pairs of pants that I have in similar sizes. Most of them are within 1.5 - 2.5 inches difference overall; whereas, these pants are about 5 inches. That's a HUGE jump from one size to the next. Just to clarify: XXL and 2X are NOT the same size. 2X are more forgiving than XXL. Knowing that, I checked to make sure that I hadn't been send a 2X instead of XXL. I was sent the correct size. The sizing is just off. Hopefully this review helps someone! :)
