Great shorts waist is so small size up

My daughter is a true 10 and I got these shorts they are more like size 7. So I ordered her a 12 along with new jeans also 12 thinking she's growing. Nope she is definitely a 10, the shorts and all her 10 jeans are noticeably different, even the new 12 shorts are still smaller than her 10 jeans. Hop...

Only thing I wished is that my girl has the same issues as me. Our hips lie lower so high rise shorts/pants are very uncomfortable and squeeze our stomachs. It would be nice if they had more midrise shorts/pants for girls. I didn't really like the slits on the sides of the shorts. I didn't see them ...
