This dress is soft and I feel very feminine in it. I would call it a house dress because it is thin however, with the right jewelry and undergarments you could dress it up to go out. Would be cute with a blue jean jacket too. I ordered a small. Although I am down 100lbs I still have a bit of a stoma...ch/ extra skin and because the waist is made this way I'm wearing it around the house rather than out so it's to not be mistaken for being pregnant. It's so comfortable I ordered two more in different colors.
I bought this in a medium tall and a normal medium, which are my usual sizes. The cut is just sort of off - the straps are way too long on the tall, and the top elastic part of the dress is too short on both. The dress flares out at the seam between the top and bottom parts, but since it doesn't hit... on your hip since that top part is so short, it isn't very flattering. Probably best for people with a really short torso or who are overall just shorter (I have a pretty short torso and it wasn't short enough). The pattern (I got the blue check one) is really cute in person, though. And it's definitely airy enough to wear in the heat.

I'm 4'11" and got XS Petite and it fits PERFECTLY! I was afraid to get my hopes up as midis normally fit us shorties like a maxi dress. I even got to wear it with flat sandals, no heels needed! Unlined but definitely not needed (to be fair I ordered the navy color). No pockets so no unnecessary fabric bunched up around your hips. Shape of the top hides a regular bra perfectly too, truly a throw it on and forget about it kind of dress. Will be buying more colors soon!
