I have been on the wide-leg jean trend for quite some time. I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of ripped jeans, that I could wear with sneakers/flats that were still a loose leg, but not "wide". Unfortunately for me, I am only 5'2", so finding jeans that don't need to be hemmed or cut (t...o wear with flats) is always challenging. I loved the look of the picture online, but realize that most of the models are tall. I decided to order these online for store pick up; though realizing that they don't typically carry lengths (other than regular) in-store - so I ordered a "regular" 0. While visiting the store to pick up, decided to try the 2 on. Both would have worked for me, though the 2 was only slightly bigger, but ultimately I decided on getting the 0, as jeans with stretch tend to look looser than I would like after a few hours of wear. While I have not worn these yet (just picked them up minutes ago) - I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the length. They are perfect!!! (possibly under an inch of extra fabric), so easily paired with flats or tennis sneakers. Just came on-line to order some in the other colors - they are THAT good! Finally a jean length that works for me! They are comfortable, trendy and loose without being wide and overly baggy looking.
inconsistent sizing. i purchased a pair of these pants about a year ago, size 16, they fit exactly how i want jeans to fit. i adored them so i ordered 3 more pairs, the exact same size and cut, just different washes. my original pair was in black, and i know sometimes black washes fit a little small...er than other washes of the same size (due to the dying process being slightly different) but the pants i received, while being marked as the same size, fit like they were at least two sizes too big, which is a ridiculous margin. the pocket sizes have also gotten slightly smaller from the pair i initially purchased just about a year ago which was disappointing too. im sure these are great if you're able to go in to a physical store to try stuff on, but the inconsistent sizing makes it ridiculously difficult to trust ordering these online unless you buy a bunch of pairs hoping one will fit, and then you have to go through the process of returning the rest. very disappointing.

oldnavy.gapcanada.caI ordered the Xena pair with the embroidered flowers. I don't normally like embellishments on jeans, but these were so cute and unique I couldn't resist! This fit is straight out of my high school days and I love it! As a woman in my 40's, I feel a bit silly in the current wide leg styles, and these are just the right amount of loose. For reference, I'm short (5 foot 1) without much in the way of hips, thundery thighs, and short legs. I was worried these would make me look blocky, but they are just tailored enough that they fit nicely in the waist without being too baggy. I paired them with one of the button up cropped blouses from Old Navy, and they make a cute outfit for casual fridays at work. The material of the jeans is fairly robust and I didn't find they bagged out too much in the knee or seat after a day of wear, though the waist did loosen up a little bit. They are super comfy and I got lots of compliments on them! The fit of these is such that I think they would be flattering on most body types. The petite is still a touch long on me, so they bag a bit around the bottom. I might get them hemmed so they are more of an ankle length like the pictures, but they don't look bad as is.
