Most of Old Navy's clothing is of exceptional quality from my experience, to the point that it is my go-to clothing store. I've never regretted a purchase, but I do have qualms with their belts, and this one is no exception. Many are made of a decent base material, but the outer material on the fron...t (which appears to be a shiny brown sort of plastic) is somewhat flimsy and prone to ripping. Any strain on the belt over time could lead to marks or tears that don't look pleasant. That said, the base material tends to be quite sturdy, and I like the look of their belts when new. They're very standard, but classic, and the price is fine. You're not paying for a high-quality leather belt, and you're not getting one; but I would like to see the material on the front of these changed.
