As a Xennial, it was hard breaking up with my skinny jeans. Over the past few years I've learned to love less fitted styles, but they don't all love me. When barrel jeans came on the scene I ignored them for a long time, certain they were just another fad that would look awful on me. But this spring... I took a chance on these jeans after seeing my favorite style influencers rave about them, and am I ever glad I did! I'm an inverted triangle, 5'3"ish, 145ish, athletic, with no waist and short legs. I've had 3 kids and there's a bit of the mom belly that will never go away. Finding jeans that fit right is hard, but these are perfect! They give me shape and make my legs look longer. I got the medium wash in 8 petite first and they hit at my ankle bone, just right for warm weather. I just got both light wash & gray in 8 regular and they hit the top of my foot. They're great with sandals and will be perfect with sneakers & boots. A 6 might've fit but I wanted breathing room in the waist.
The sizing and fit of these jeans varied widely according to the wash and it's quite frustrating. I ordered the grey wash, black wash, medium wash (darker version), and dark wash in both sizes 2 and 0 to compare, since I am in between sizes. The fit of the darker washes ran bigger, so the medium was...h in a size 2 fit like the darker washes in a size 0. Perhaps the company was trying to adjust sizing since darker washes typically fit tighter? This meant however that finding my right fit was impossible, and none of the washes fit really how I wanted them to. The medium wash was my favorite color, but the size 0 was too small and the 2 was too big. However, the size 0 in the other washes fit perfectly around the waist but were too baggy in the legs, and the barrel shape didn't adjust in curve according to a shorter inseam, so it looked unflattering on a shorter body even though the length was technically appropriate.

Nicely fitting barrel jeans, but they run a both large AND short. I recommend sizing down and sticking with a longer length. I'm typically a 6/8/M in most bottoms, and at 5'3" I always go for petite length at old navy. So initially I bought a 6P. They were definitely too large, hanging at my hips instead of higher on the waist, and baggy in the leg. The petite length was also surprisingly too short, multiple inches above my ankle like capris! This time I downsized to the 4 and got the regular length, and they fit much better. They're a tiny bit snug to start but they do stretch out slightly while wearing. The regular length hits me perfectly just above the ankle. The medium wash looks just like the photos. Overall they're nice thick jeans in a trendy and flattering barrel shape; I would just size down in size and consider a longer length than usual. #sweepstakes

As a 5'1" it's extremely difficult for me to find high waisted ankle pants and Old Navy has been my only go-to place for truly high waisted ankle pants. These dark wash jeans have been my only staple pants this entire winter since I gained weight (now my waist is 29-30) and my other pants (28) couldn't fit me anymore. They are also nice and thick so kept me warm in the cold. The 10P fits me so perfectly, sits above my belly button, and the waist is definitely on the smaller side but not tight - after a day, it stretches about half an inch so I can easily tuck in my shirt no problem. The length is also perfect cause the hem sits above my ankle which makes me feel a tiny bit taller :D. The pants slightly taper at the bottom which looks good on my short stature. Overall, love these and will definitely wear them until it gets warmer. I don't think they'd be comfortable to wear in the hot summer due to how thick the material is.
