A couple years ago, Old Navy changed both the fabric and design of these leggings and kept the label the same for both without ever acknowledging there were changes. The new fabric is not nearly as soft or stretchy as it once was and the pockets used to point into a V, now they curve into a U. I am... a true 2X and as a plus size woman ballin' on a budget, I purchased ALL of my workout gear at Old Navy and the original PowerSoft leggings were the goat. They lasted, had the perfect amount of stretch and compression, and were so soft. I could also lift weights, do squats and leg press, etc. without fear of anything being seen through the fabric. I am CLINGING to my remaining pair with every fiber of my being. The new design, however, has left me searching for all of my activewear elsewhere and encouraging my fellow plus size friends not to purchase activewear from Old Navy. I have purchased multiple pairs of the new design in 2X and they are all just a touch too snug. I tried sizing up to a 3X and they were falling off of me. I have tried to power through the snug fit and every single pair has ripped apart or become threadbare in only a few short months leaving me feeling even more embarrassed to be a plus sized woman at my large gym on a better health journey. I cannot even put into words how immensely disappointed I am in this change on Old Navy's behalf. I would have provided a review sooner but quite frankly, I didn't think it would make a difference because why would a company listen to one fat person's review? The day that Old Navy brings back the original fabric with the right amount of stretch and compression will be the day I return to being a loyal Old Navy shopper.
