I bought a Medium for my son, going off the size chart. He wears a 12/14 normally. I should've gotten a Large. So I would recommend sizing down one. It looks wide enough, but maybe a bit short. Also, the image takes up most of the shirt, which is nice.

this is clearly sized for adults, not children. my boy is a size medium in kids and he was swimming in this shirt.
