I love these. Very comfortable! The rust color is a little more red-orange and less brown but I still love it. I may get even more colors. For reference I am 5'10, 27 waist 38.5 hips, and had to size down to XS. I recommend sizing down especially since it has elastic. The waist is actually nice and... high on my tall torso, a rare find indeed! The leg edges don't roll up (yay!!) so they keep me covered with my average to slightly curvy bottom even when sitting and standing repeatedly. There is a little extra fabric on the inner thighs which is common issue for me, but still ok. So if you have curvy thighs, sizing down may still be worth a try.
I ordered these first in the denim in a M and they were really tight in the waist. I usually wear a M in the OG chino pants so thought they would fit. Then I ordered the dark khaki color in the L. These came damaged with cuts in the fabric where they could not be worn. I went ahead and tried the...m on to just see how the large fit before returning them, and unfortunately they were a bit too large in the waist and crotch. I will not be reordering these shorts and probably will avoid pants and shorts from Old Navy for a while. I am so disappointed that all the sizing has gone to S, M, L instead of numbered sizing. It is just too hard to find the perfect fit. For reference, I am 5'4" 170 lbs wear size 10, M/L in most things.
