How do I earn points with the card?

Cardmembers earn 5 points for every $1 spent at our family of brands, in-store and online. In addition, Gap Inc. Visa Card purchases will earn 1 point for every $1 spent outside of our brands, everywhere Visa Credit Cards are accepted.

How do I earn Rewards with the card?

For every 500 points earned, cardmembers will receive $5 in Rewards redeemable in-store or online.

Where and how can I redeem Rewards?

You can redeem your Rewards at the following brands: Old Navy, Gap, Gap Factory, Banana Republic, Banana Republic Factory and Athleta in the U.S., (including Puerto Rico) and Canada.

Can I use the card outside the U.S.?

Customers who have a Gap Inc. Visa Credit Card can use the card anywhere Visa Credit Cards are accepted. In Canada, non-Visa Credit Cards can be used in some of the Gap Inc. family of brand stores.

When and how will I know if my application has been approved?

Whether you apply in-store or online, you will get a response right away. If an instant approval is not granted, you will receive a letter from Synchrony Bank within 30 days regarding your application. Customers can be approved for a credit card accepted at the Gap Inc. family of brands or a Gap Inc. Visa Credit Card that can also be used anywhere else Visa Credit Cards are accepted.

When will I receive the card?

Customers who are approved will be sent their new card via U.S. Mail within 7–10 days from the date they are approved.

Will I be able use the card right away?

Customers who are approved in-store will receive a Temporary Shopping Pass, which includes their name, account number, date of issue, APR, and temporary credit limit. A valid driver’s license or government-issued ID must be presented each time a Temporary Shopping Pass is used to make a purchase. Customers who are approved online will also be provided with a temporary account number, which can be used online and in-store along with valid driver’s license or government-issued ID.

Where can I use the card?

You can use your card at any Gap Inc. store, or online, including Old Navy, Gap, Gap Factory store, Banana Republic, Banana Republic Factory store or Athleta. Unfortunately, Intermix, Janie and Jack, and Weddington Way stores do not accept private label credit cards at this time. If you are approved for a Gap Inc. Visa Credit Card, it can also be used anywhere in the world where Visa Credit Cards are accepted.

How do I activate my card?

Gap Inc. Credit Cards are issued by Synchrony Bank. You can activate your card with Synchrony Bank online, or by calling: Old Navy Credit Card: 866-450-8389; Navyist Credit Card: 866-450-8393.

Where can I get information about my account?

Old Navy Credit Cards are serviced by Synchrony Bank. To find information on your account, you can create an online Synchrony account, or by calling Old Navy Credit Card: 866-450-5295.

What should I do if my card is lost or stolen?

Cardmembers may report lost or stolen Gap Inc. Credit Cards 24 hours a day, seven days a week to Synchrony Cardmember Customer Service. To report your card lost or stolen call 866-450-5295. Please review your account for any purchases you did not make and report them to the customer service department when you call. Synchrony Bank will close your account and issue you a new account number and card for your protection.

Can I purchase a gift card online with my Gap Inc. Credit Card?

Yes, gift cards are available for purchase online with both Gap Inc. Credit Cards and Gap Inc. Visa Credit Cards.

How do I pay my credit card bill?

You can make a payment by mail, over the phone, or online. Unfortunately, stores cannot accept Gap Inc. Credit Card payments or provide envelopes for mailing payment.

Can I pay my credit card bill in store?

Unfortunately, stores cannot accept Gap Inc. Credit Card payments or provide return address envelopes. There are various ways a customer can make a payment: by mail, over the phone, or online. When paying by phone, it's free to pay through the automated system; however, there may be a fee to pay with a live agent.

Where can I find my account details online?

To get information on your account including payments made, outstanding bills, and more, you can create an online Synchrony account. To view your points balance, Rewards earned, and your annual progress toward Navyist status, you can also add your card by logging in above.

Where and how can I redeem my Rewards?

You can redeem your Rewards at the following brands: Old Navy, Gap, Gap Factory, Banana Republic, Banana Republic Factory and Athleta in the U.S., (including Puerto Rico) and Canada.

Where can I find my Rewards balance?

Your Rewards are included on your monthly statement. You can also view and access your Rewards from your online Synchrony account, and/or by logging in above.

Where can I get copies of my Rewards certificates?

You will receive copies of Rewards certificates with your monthly statements; you can also view and access your Rewards in your online Synchrony account, or by logging in above. You can also log in above to sign up to receive your Rewards via text.

Can I use my Rewards to pay my bill?

Rewards cannot be used to make payments toward your account. Rewards can only be used toward purchases of merchandise made in-store or online at Old Navy, Gap, Gap Factory store, Banana Republic, Banana Republic Factory store or Athleta in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico) and Canada.

How do I add an authorized user to my account?

An authorized user is a person who has been approved by the primary cardmember to use the same Gap Inc. Credit Card account. There are a few ways to make an authorized user request, including by phone or online. Synchrony Customer Service will mail individual cards to the primary cardmember with the authorized user’s name on the front of the card. Note that minors may be authorized users. However, authorized users are not joint applicants and are not financially responsible for account activity. The primary cardmember’s monthly billing statement will include any activity made by authorized users. Purchases by primary cardmember and authorized users are not separated on the billing statement.
