Measuring Tips

There are two elements to your bra size. First is the band size, such as 32, 34, 36, 38, 40. Second is the cup size, such as A, B, C, D, E (or DD), etc.

Here are some tips to help you order the correct size. If you don't have a measuring tape, use a piece of string and hold it alongside a ruler. To ensure a comfortable fit the measuring tape should be against your skin, but not indenting it.

Band Size

Wrap the measuring tape tightly under your bust, where your bra would normally sit. Keep your arms at your side as much as possible. Round your measurement to an even number. Depending on your preference, round down for a snug fit and round up for an easy fit.

Cup Size

Wrap the measuring tape loosely around the fullest part of your chest. Keep your arms at your side as much as possible. Depending on your preference, round down for a snug fit and round up for an easy fit.

Finding Your Size

Subtract your band size from your cup size. The difference will determine your cup size. Check below to find your cup size.

1" = A
2" = B
3" = C
4" = D
5" = E / DD
6" = F / DDD
7" = G / DDDD

Start to Finish Example

1. Band measurement is 34 inches.
2. Cup measurement is 37 inches.
3. 37" - 34" = 3"
4. The size would be a 34C.
• The Sister Size up is 36B.
• The Sister Size down is 32D.

Sister Sizing

A "Sister Size" is an alternate size where the band size and cup letter change, but the cup volume is the same. This works because the number and letter are a ratio - not a measurement. Sister Sizes can be used if your usual size is out of stock or if you want to refine your fit.

Finding Your Sister Size

In the chart below, all bra sizes in the same row across are sister sizes and have the same cup volume. To find your sister size, locate your usual size on the chart. To sister size down, select the size to the left. To sister size up, select the size to the right.

Example

To Sister Size up from 34C, select 36B. To Sister Size down from 34C, select 32D.

Fit Experience

You want a bra that looks and feels good. Your breast tissue should fill out the cups without overflow at the sides or top of the cup. You also want to make sure that there is no empty space at the top or bottom of the cups. Lastly, straps and bands should not be uncomfortably digging into your shoulders or back, nor should they slide off your shoulders and up your back.

Fit Issues

If your straps are digging in, try loosening your straps using adjusters. If the straps are still digging in, try going down a band size. Remember, when you get a smaller band size, you need to go up a cup size. Example: If you’re 34B, your tighter band would be 32C.

If your straps are falling off, try tightening your straps using adjusters. If the straps continue to slip, try going down a band size. Remember, when you get a smaller band size, you need to go up a cup size. Example: If you’re 34B, your tighter band would be 32C.

Your band should sit parallel to the floor. If your band rides up, your band size is too big. Try going down a band size. Remember, when you get a smaller band size, you need to go up a cup size. Example: If you’re 34B, your tighter band would be 32C.

If your band is digging in, and you cannot comfortably fit two fingers underneath the band, try going up a band size. Remember, when you get a bigger band size, you need to go down a cup size. Example: If you’re 34B, your bigger band would be 36C.

If your cup is gaping, try tightening your straps. If the problem continues and your band fits comfortably, try going down a cup size.

If you are overflowing your cups and your band fits comfortably, go up a cup size.

If you are exposed underneath the cup (also known as underboob), adjust to a tighter hook. If the problem persists, try going down a band size. If the problem still persists, go up a cup size.

If you are spilling out of the side of the cup and your band fits comfortably, go up a cup size.
